7.11.1894 - 6.9.1979

James Ross started James Ross Mason Contractor in 1926 with one dump truck and a tow behind cement mixer. Back then everything was done with a handshake.

In 1952 while our dad Tony Sr. was on his way back from Korea, our grandfather James had a sign made for the company pickup that read: JAMES ROSS & SON. It was then, that James made his son Tony Sr. an equal partner.

In 1968 our grandfather retired, and our dad Tony Sr. continued the tradition of quality sidewalks throughout the Syracuse area.

In the 1970's we expanded our services by doing asphalt work. By the 80's James Ross & Son was at the forefront of doing municipal work and in the 90's added playground installations.

In 1995 Dad retired and Mike and Tony Jr. carried the torch while continuing to broaden James Ross & Son services. Many accomplishments have been made over the years, including the recent addition of being an exclusive Flexi-Pave provider.

Today we have a fleet of over 30 vehicles, a variety of equipment, and over 25 employees.

We're proud of what our grandfather started back in 1926, and work very hard to continue in his tradition of excellence.
